As more young people try to adopt healthy lifestyles, there has been a rise in people seeking alcohol alternatives. The alcohol industry is prominent, with a current value of $500 billion globally. Experts believe this number could rise to $735 billion in 2025.

Many Americans are cutting back on alcohol consumption

This figure isn’t surprising, seeing that people enjoy drinking. There are many reasons people drink. Some of these reasons are to enhance relaxation or participate in social interactions. However, some people want to take part in these occasions without drinking. Others are okay with alcohol but would like to drink less.

Because of this need, there has been an increasing demand for drinks with little or no alcohol, especially since the pandemic. The reason was that many people saw the need to live healthier lifestyles during this period. As a result, the market for non-alcoholic drinks rose from $291 million to $3.1 billion.

It has become clear to many experts that this trend is unlikely to change. When the year begins, experts refer to the first two weeks as dry January. In 2022, the sale of alcoholic drinks dropped by 6.7%. However, the sale of non-alcoholic drinks rose by 19%.

While this was a specific period, non-alcoholic sales have increased by 113%. While the alcohol sales also increased, it was only by 26%. Since other studies have shown that 78% of people purchasing non-alcoholic beverages also buy alcoholic ones, researchers believe that a change in their habits has caused this difference.

Boom Beverage has created alcohol mimicking non-alcoholic drinks

According to the senior vice president of Boom Beverage, Greg Dobbin, the number of people who want healthier lives has increased. Unfortunately, their needs weren’t met, so they cut back on alcohol.

However, Dobbin also believes people shouldn’t cut back on enjoyable moments because they want to live healthier. Because of this, Boom Beverage launched many non-alcoholic spirits, cocktails and other drinks. These drinks taste like their alcohol counterparts and thus don’t make people feel like they are missing out.

While such drinks have been available for years, they didn’t capture the taste of alcoholic beverages. Fortunately, companies have been able to apply technology to improve this.
