Seven in ten (73%) Americans want to boost their physical exercise to stay current with their kids. That’s because many people weren’t taking care of themselves like they were before due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Most Americans are committed to staying healthy and fit

The study surveyed 2,000 subjects in the US subjects to find out how Americans remain active in light of the significant changes in their schedules and habits over the previous two years. Only 50% of responders (51%) can comfortably reach their toes. Despite 70% of individuals making a greater effort to go about and be fit and healthy now than they did at the beginning of the pandemic, individuals are striving to improve their behaviors.

Around 42% of respondents claim they fight to remain fit and healthy throughout the day if it’s because they work remotely or lack desire.

The survey, which OnePoll undertook for Voltaren Arthritis Pain Gel, shows that Americans are more likely than ever to attempt to be active and fit. In addition, people reaffirm their dedication to a healthy lifestyle by engaging in home exercises (38%), behavioral health walks (31%), and stretching (43%).

It is evident that exercise can improve a person’s self-esteem and ability to interact with others. Around  81%  of those surveyed claim that exercise improves their health, and 54% have set a goal to work out with their families more frequently. Other reasons for increasing activity include bettering one’s physical health (67%) and emotional health (51%), in addition to becoming a positive role model for one’s children (42%).

The average person takes 3,800 steps

But when presented with a list of typical challenges, 87% of respondents claim that at least one of those challenges keeps them from engaging in physical activity throughout the day. For example, the International Journal of Behavioral Nutrition and Physical Activity recommends 10,000 steps per day, yet the ordinary person admits only taking 3,800. Illness (30%) and a lack of enthusiasm (39%) are two obstacles at the forefront of the list. However, joint discomfort and arthritis provide the most challenge (42%).
