Toys R Us is re-launching ahead of the holiday season. However, the struggling company will be launching a website that will be redirecting customers to Target Corporation (NYSE:TGT), where they can make purchases.
You can buy Toys R Us products online
Target is partnering with Toys R Us’ parent company TRU Kids to re-launch the ToysRUs.com platform. With the partnership Toys R Us will once be online after going bankrupt. It has begun to launch Toys R Us outlets in the US. This will also be a significant boost for Target and its strong toy segment ahead of the holidays.
The online site provides a comprehensive product list and reviews of amazing toys as well as gifts for kids of all ages. Those interested in making purchases online for the toys will get redirected to the Target site where they and finalize the transaction once they have selected their product.
Toys R Us filed for bankruptcy last year and closed all its stores in the US and fired hundreds of its workers. Tue Kids Brands, led by Richard Barry, bought the rest of its assets.
Toys R Us chose Target because of its capabilities
Barry, a former Chief Merchandising Officer of Toys R Us, indicted that Target will power the online platform because it already has an incredible toy business. He added that they also have a solid supply chain as well as comprehensive knowledge regarding toy categories. Barry said that they contacted several businesses for a partnership, but Target’s impressive investment in Toys appealed to them.
He said that they hope the site will be resourceful to consumers seeking the latest toys and with learning tools for children. Barry indicated that they wanted to re-launch Toys R US freshly through a content-rich concept.
Besides the online re-launch, there are also plans of opening physical outlets in Paramus, New Jersey, and Houston, Texas. The locations will help customers to check new products, and the sales agents will help them to make online purchases.
